Firestarter Review & Is it FOMO or FOBO?
Hello and happy fall. It’s been a minute or two since my last email. Where have I been? Life has been busy with more hours at work, and with moving my parents into senior housing. The last step is to clear out their house. It has sold and closes at the end of the month. Hopefully things will settle back down after that and I will get back into the rhythm of this newsletter and my Youtube channel!
In this issue:
I made a review video, something different for me!
Affinity Publisher: the color and style picker tools
Marketing insights
Video Tutorials
New on YouTube: It’s taken a while, but I am getting near the end of exploring the left toolbar in Affinity Publisher. Next up will be some of the panels and windows, plus more project based tutorials.
The color and style picker tools allow you to select colors, and/or effects from one object in your document and apply them to other objects or text. This makes it easier to create a consistent look in your projects.

Niche Idea: Travel and Family Memory Makers
This week I have something a little different. I purchased the Firestarter AI Mini-Adventure Guide builder (and the upsell of 8 additional themes). I created a review video on Youtube, as well as a blog post that summarizes the video.
The summary of the summary is that the front end of this offer can be used to create content for family, lifestyle, and travel creators. The prompts can be used to make products (books, PDF itineraries, digital planners) as well as video quizzes, printables, and blog content to promote your products.
Of course you will need to fact check the results, as with all AI. I plan to use it for locations I know well. It makes it easier to spot and correct errors when you know your topic well.
I am an affiliate for this product. My email service provider does not allow Warrior links so if you are interested, my affiliate links can be found in the blog post or in the description of the Youtube video. If you have any questions about this product, please feel free to hit reply and ask!

Is your SOS FOMO or FOBO?
Most of us are familiar with the acronyms SOS (Shiny Object Syndrome) and FOMO (Fear of Missing Out), but recently I was introduced to FOMO’s cousin, FOBO. Fear of Better Options.
Since then, I have been thinking about the connections.
Every day my inbox is flooded with offers to help my content creation, social media, course creation, etc. Not only that, but the carrot of new, untapped, hot niches is dangled before me. And then there are the new business models or product types that promise easy and fast money.
The worst offenders are the offers that promise new niches or business models without actually telling me what they are. You have to buy the thing to find out. Many times after I find out, I am not interested. A waste of both time and money.
And that’s where FOBO hits us. Unless you are a beginner to online business opportunities, chances are you have tried a thing or two (or twelve) and you have settled on what feels right for you.
For me, I decided books and blogging was where I wanted to focus. Since then I have decided I like YouTube too, but the point is I know what kind of business model suits me best.
And yet frequently I am tempted by something that looks fun and/or easy. Behind the temptation? You guessed, fear that there might be a better option.
If I can get the same result with less effort, wouldn’t that be better? Especially when time is limited?
I also believe sometimes these temptations are fueled by the money now vs. money later conundrum. This is where you know one path may lead to quicker or easier results, but it’s not the thing you want to build or it’s not something that’s likely sustainable in the long term. A quick win.
But even quick wins steal time and attention away from building the things we have set our minds to.
So now, I ask the question-Will this advance me on the path I have chosen? If not, then will this steal time and attention away from my chosen path?
If you have taken the time to think about what kind of business you want to build, and what suits your situation in life, then kick FOBO to the curb. Because you have already decided on your best option, and it’s steady progress that will get you where you want to go.
Until next time,
Catherine
