Global Changes in Affinity | Better Headlines

Hello,

I hope your new year has gotten off to a great start. I have been meaning to send out a newsletter for the past few weeks and it keeps getting bumped. Then, I wrote this last week and ended up in email purgatory due to the whole email authentication business.

In case you don’t remember who I am, I ran a PLR shop Content Accelerators and also have a Youtube channel and website called Printables Academy. The focus has been on creating printables and low content books with Affinity software. If you are on this list you have either made a purchase or signed up through a giveaway or bundle. You may unsubscribe below at any time.

I have only sent a few emails since October due to a health fright (which in December turned out to be a false alarm). It made me realize though that we only have this one life and one body so I am trying to lose the hustle mentality.

I am slowly getting back into the swing of creating new content, including this newsletter. Please note that I have switched email services so things may look a little different.

I subscribe to some insanely valuable newsletters these days and I hope to ramp this one up to the point where you feel the same about my newsletter (you can help me below with a one click poll about future content).

New Youtube Tutorial:

I was recently repurposing a printable to change up the design. I’ve known that Adobe design products have this feature, but never thought to look in Affinity. That feature is to change up elements quickly using Select→Same…

What I’m Loving:

I rarely subscribe to a newsletter as a result of a Facebook ad, but this one enticed me and I am so glad I did. Perhaps the best newsletter I currently subscribe to is The Pen Pivot. It’s all about the psychology of headlines and engagement.

We all know that once we've done all the SEO things to get our listings or content ranking, the thing that usually makes people click is the headline or title.

Food for Thought & Random Musings

Are you doing what you love or just creating another job for yourself? I was listening to an episode of the Doug show (podcast) and he said something like this in regards to avoiding burnout.

I think it is worth considering. Sometimes the things we really want to be doing take time to have an ROI and we get caught up chasing shiny objects, taking course after course with the promise of low competition and high profits.

Yet, if you have that time maybe it’s worth it to be the tortoise in the long run. No point escaping one rat race just to find yourself in another one of your own making.

Until next time,

Catherine
